In this booklet devoted, as its name suggests the Commanderies Burgundian, it comes Crimolois. In the study conducted on the Magdeleine Commandery of Dijon, we read:
" It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest Commandery of the Order of Malta in Burgundy. Settled first in Crimolois under the jurisdiction of the Grand Prior of Champagne, the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem in 1170 founded a property on Dijon, at the entrance of the city, near the gate of St. Peter, and it definitely creates a commander of their order. The remains of it, along with some headstones (one is exposed to the archaeological museum of Dijon) will be found in the late 19th century, and the position must be accurately located on the current site Wilson.
The Commandery is growing rapidly: many donations made to it, and it has fields in several villages.
Thus it has properties and manorial rights to Crimolois, Thorey, Fenay, Marsannay, Sacquenay, Varanger Fauvernay, Dijon, Gemini, Saint Julien, Villers-les-Pots, Mirebeau, Fontaine-French, Beira, Tarsul, Neuilly Arcelot, Flacey, Pluvet, Bressey, etc. ... "
The author then delivers the history of the Commandery of the Madeleine.Voici his conclusion:
"We can now locate the second location of the Commandery of the Magdalen in Dijon, on the corner of the existing streets and Hernoux Admiral Roussin. Most of the church still remains, after undergoing many changes: several apartments have been created there. "
" The most interesting room is the Renaissance portal of the church the Magdalen, which was recently restored and is a beautiful architectural ensemble. "
" A Crimolois, there are still many vestiges of the institution of the Hospitallers: the church, two houses, the remains of the farm and perhaps also a former underground. Moreover, their memory is recalled by the Maltese cross section in the arms of this town "
The fact that our streets is named" The Magdalene, "is certainly relate to the history of Knights of Malta and their presence among us ... Crimolois.
During the replacement of the roofs of the church and the steeple in 1979 through Chevreul, the mayor had sought a grant of the Order of Malta. A donation of 5000 Fr, exceptionally, was obtained. This establishes a permanent presence of the Order of Malta, at home ... Crimolois.

The Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem Crimolois
For nearly a century and a half from 1163 to 1307, Crimolois the stay of the order of the Hospitallers of Jerusalem - which later became known as Knights of Rhodes established in Cyprus in 1191 sold a year after the Templars. Knights of Rhodes from 1309 to 1522 or Suleiman the Magnificent in the dislodged, become Knights of Malta 24 March 1530, and the Knights of Malta - will have a profound impact not only the village life, but the whole country.
The following items are extracted for most of documentation assembled by a local scholar, Father of Mollon, pastor of Neuilly, who was particularly interested to stay in the region:
- A first paper puts in his time the existence of this order of knight from medieval times.
-the other we specify what remains today, both Crimolois at Dijon, the residence of the Hospitallers.
-Two poems of the Father of Mollon (signed The Renest), where he tells us with his sensitivity as a poet, how he perceives this passage.
Despite their accuracy, it is possible that some errors have crept into the documents, particularly for some dates. We do not admire the least searched of the research of these authors.
